I want to start our March email update out by apologizing to those of you who receive our physical prayer newsletters. I aim to get those sent off in the last week of the month, but February is short and I got busy so you are probably just now receiving them. I’m sorry I didn’t get them sent out in time. Thank you so much for praying for us. If you are not receiving a physical newsletter in the mail and would like to please email me and I will get your name on the address list.
With that said, here is our March edition of the Ascent prayer team newsletter. We have had a thrilling month with some exciting answers to prayer requests and also some new requests that we would love for you to join us in praying over. I am excited to spend some time talking about our future in part 7 of this vision series. Our vision frame all comes together to paint a picture of the future. We know that our future will ultimately be determined by God and that the future He has for us is far better than any picture we could paint for ourselves.
However, we believe it is wise to humbly seek after a God glorifying vision. Today, we are going to begin outlining our five legacy lanes. These are the five areas of influence that we believe God wants us to focus on. There are many great ways a church can be involved in impacting the world for Christ. These are the five ways we believe God is calling us to make an impact. “I am more ready than ever to plant a church” -Me (three years ago)
I thought I was ready, but really I was just arrogant. I think more than anything I was interested in planting a church out of selfish desire. Now in the middle of church planting I have a much different perspective. I praise God for the obstacles and opportunities He placed in front of me that forced me to wait. We are in part six of our series over the vision of Ascent. We have covered three parts of the vision frame thus far, which means we only have two topics left to discuss. This week we will look at our mission in greater detail before looking at our vision proper for the final five weeks of the series.
If you haven’t already, please read the previous five post in this series by clicking here. I started this year with a goal of providing one full length book review per week. Needless to say, I might of slightly underestimated the schedule of a church planter. Each week I sit down and list out the tasks I need to accomplish in the week and then I allot the amount of time I reasonably think the job will take me to complete. This week that number came out to 90 hours.
I am so excited for Ascent church. I believe God is going to use us to do amazing things. How cool is it that we get to play a small role in God’s big cosmic story? In this post we will be continuing our series outlining the vision frame that we believe will allow us to be an influential church for generations to come.
Today, we will be looking at the third and final value of Ascent church. Next week we will begin to look at our mission statement in greater detail. Before you continue on with this post I would suggest that you read the others in our vision series by clicking here. Today, we will continue our blog series over the vision of Ascent church. Specifically, we are going to look at the second of our three values; along with the values implications in regards to the rest of the vision. If you haven’t already be sure to read the previous post in this series before moving forward.
You can view other post in this series by clicking here. I am so excited to share our request and praises with those of you who take time to pray for our ministry. It is a joy to know that the Lord has surrounded us with such wonderful people.
Last month, I started with our request and ended with praises. I am going to switch that around this time, because we are so excited to share how God has been using your prayers! We couldn’t do this without you. In the last post of this series over our vision frame, we discussed our strategy and measures. In other words, we looked at the four key things we feel God calling us to accomplish and the four strategy points to accomplish those goals. If you haven’t already I would suggest reading the first two parts of this series before engaging with this post. Today, we will begin discussing our values. We will give each value it’s own post to fully explain how each of them relates with our vision.
